I really want to listen to this, but the audio on my computer is all fuzzy for some reason.

Scott Wedgewood in net.

Pesonen - Pelley - Matteau
Merrill - McPherson

To start.

I'm assuming we've also got the 1st and 4th lines from the other night:

Boucher - Timmins - Whitney
McKelvie - K. Zajac - Janssen

Which means the remaining line must be some combination of Wohlberg, Sestito, and Hoeffel.

Taormina is on Syracuse. I thought he said he wanted to sign with Tampa Bay cause he thought he'd have a better chance to make the NHL? I'm not even sure if he's ever played an NHL game with them. Would take him over Harrold.

He's also having a great season so far, 9 points in his first 6 games. I still think he has what it takes to be an NHL defenseman.

Thanks for the link! This game is quite relevant to my nerdy dynasty league. I have Merrill/Wedgewood along with J.T. Brown and Brett Connolly on Syracuse.

Albany with an early PP.

Whitney next time there is a forward call up please. Might be another Bobby Butler if he gets to the NHL, but I think he deserves a chance.

Whitney just hurt Boucher with a shot that was meant for Reid to tip.

What's Albany's PP percentage this year? I imagine it's gotta be decent with Gelinas and Merrill on it.

Obviously it's probably not as good with Gelinas now in the NHL.

Sestito cut. Only a 2 minute though.

Anyone nail down the defensive pairings? I've been making dinner and the only one I know for sure is Merrill - MacPherson.

I think Burlon is with Kelly. So Scarlett and Helgeson would be together. Not completely sure, but Burlon and Kelly were definitely out at one point together.

Helgeson - Scarlett is an interesting pairing. Sort of an Albany equivalent of Volchenkov - Zidlicky with a PK and PP specialist.

Uhoh. 5-3 for 1:30. And Syracuse scores, Kucherov and Namestnikov combine. 1-0 Syracuse. Taormina gets another point, so he's now got 10 points in 7 games.

Just click it back on. It occasionally does that.

Okay thanks. I noticed this last time I listened to an Albany game too. It came back on after I clicked the headphone icon.

Syracuse scores on a 5 on 3. Taormina with an assist.

2-0 Syracuse. Took a weird bounce off McPherson's skate.

Taormina with another assist. I remember playing Eckford last year and he had 2 points against Albany too.

And we're headed back to the penalty kill, immediately after giving up two powerplay goals.

Helgeson just cranked Taormina sounds like, but it doesn't sound like it slowed Matt down any. And now Syracuse takes a penalty, so we're going to 4-4.

On to a shortened powerplay...

Albany all over Syracuse, but nothing comes of it.

Period over. 2-0. I don't know if we can say they really played poorly, they just got eaten up on the PK by a really potent PP unit. And ugh, I still have exams to grade but I think I drank a little too much wine with dinner. I must've poured a little extra with each goal against.

You look at Albany's roster, and you understand why this team has struggled over the years. Outside of the guys on the first line, the team has basically no goal-scoring talent up front.

Boucher - Timmins - Whitney
Pesonen - Pelley - Matteau
Hoeffel - Sestito - Wohlberg
McKelvie - K. Zajac - Janssen

You're asking a lot the guys on the middle two lines. Only Pesonen can really be in any sense be described as having particular goal-scoring talent.
