Well some good affordable minor leaguers, and i hate to be 'that guy' but kind of indictment on our drafting and development. Especially having to go and get a goalie.
Really don’t agree with this at all. This is very typical for all teams. Adding veteran depth to farm teams. Prospects that you draft leave for greener pastures at some point when they don’t push into the NHL lineup. That is what these players are doing, and that is why some of our guys will move on to other teams as well. Nothing wrong with having good veteran depth in the minors to call up to the NHL to fill in for injuries rather than rushing prospects into positions they aren’t ready to fill. Then when the vets get the call up, the young prospects get more responsibility and opportunity on the minor league team. It’s basic development 101.

Edit: reread you post and misunderstood...as far as the goalie thing went. Agreed there, that we have swung and missed too many times and wasted too many assets chasing a goalie that the org apparently has no idea how to develop..

Yes, your minor league team needs to be more then just your prospects, because that team being a good team also has some value, as far as I understand it lol

The question is who are all our good prospects in the minors, the guys that two years ago everyone was jumping and down about when bako had the good year like benson, marody and then last year macleod, maksimov. I assume we will be adding a guy or two from the draft previous to this.

In any case re the signings all minor leaguers who are not going to help the big team. Good for Bako though,

Bako was a clusterfudge last season with issues in goal and scoring. Our goalies down there are horrible. And other than Currie, Gambs, and AHL superstar Colby Cave... we couldn’t score shit. Krill and Benson are our only AHL offensive hopes. McLeod has stone hands currently.

I like these moves.

Flames radio was saying today that Holland guaranteed Quine a NHL spot to lure him from Calgary lol. Man they’re bitter about losing him for some reason.

I do like what I saw of him in my limited viewings.

About time we get them back for stealing our players like Glenncross, Versteeg. etc.
