Watching Miller for Tampa shows me he is the exact same player that we saw here... Disinterested in the defensive zone, clueless in the neutral zone, SF was right about him, and quite frankly, I'd be pissed if we gave a guy like that $5M...

If you get 35 points + decent all around defensive play out of Namestnikov for $2.5M, vs 50 points and crap play in the defensive end for $5M, I take Vlad every time
Eh. Partially right. Partially way off.

I’m curious what you mean by this.
Well. I was correct in that his on-ice impacts weren't bad because of Hayes, they were bad because he doesn't excel at that part of the game. I was correct that passing is an asset for him.

I was wrong that it'd be rare for him to consistently record 50+ points in this league.
I was wrong that his shooting % would hit a heavy wall.

Thanks.

Overall, though, I’d say your general point of Miller being a liability/bad value at the contract he’ll receive moving forward is what @TheTakedown (and others, me included) is giving you props for.

watching him some in the playoffs he's still irritating as hell and inconsistent with what he does on the ice

Leaving whatever the locker room issues aside (as well as his "regularly occasional" brain cramps in the defensive zone), I think of Miller as a very, very good supplemental top-6 player.

Yes, I agree he can be a very good top six player who can perform well with top talent. He still does some shit that irritates the hell out of me and I think ultimately holds him back from being better.

Okay, so hear me out on this one.

AV was fired on April 7th, 2018. We yankees represent that in the MM/DD/YYYY format as 04/07/2018

Today is July 4th, commonly referred to as American Independence Day. Reformatted as 07/04/2018

Now, most other civilized portions of the world use DD/MM/YYYY as the format instead.

07/04/2018 becomes April 7th, 2018

04/07/2018 becomes July 4th, 2018

Could it be that AV getting fired was the true Independence Day?

Makes you think.
