Still see a potential NHLer in Greer. Of course his acceleration was complete balls last year and he needs to learn how to channel that aggression without hurting the team, but I thought he had good vision, positioning and decision-making. There's enough there for him to be a contributor IMO.

1 year/$735k pro salary, $90k minor salary.

So a $20k increase for him if he's in the AHL again.

Is it just me or is that especially low given Greer's contributions in the AHL? Dries just got more than four times that with half the points per game! Guessing it might be a veteran thing?

I doubt he had a whole lot of negotiation power after the arrest. And I have a feeling he will be on our 4th line in the NHL to start the season anyways.

Over who though? Can’t imagine he’d be in over Nieto, Calvert, Wilson, or even Kamenev.

I really have no idea when you put it that way, but injuries always happen so someone is moving up or out I have to think.

Yeah I think he and Kam battle it out for the 13th fwd spot this year. But he’ll definitely get some games this season.

I really hope they don't call up Dries instead of a prospect like Greer again.

Saying that, there's going to be tons of competition for that 13th spot and first call-up this season, between Greer, Kamenev, Kaut, Bowers, O'Connor, and Dries primarily. Like with Dries and O'Connor last season there might also be someone who make enough of an impression at camp to stick around.
