That forward line-up consists of 8 rookies (and Alex Kile, who only played 12 AHL games before joining Laval on a PTO). The defense has 2 (Fleury & Sklenicka)

Belzile, who was the only player to have played in every game so far this season will miss tonight's game due to illsness.

Toronto scores first. 1-0 Marlies. Nice hand-eye coordination by Timashov to tap it out of mid-air to score. More impressive is he was patient enough to let the puck drop a little in order to avoid batting it too high. And he did it backhanded.

Laval is still playing real well. Very hard working.

God, can’t wait that Suzuki Brook Poehling join the Rocket, god that lineup is awful...

Yea, not a lot to get excited about in terms of skill set. The encouraging part is that they are night and day from the Lefebvre years. Hard working and more often than not, dominate the games. Once they get some natural skill like the players you mention, it should be better. There are still some of the rookies I'm enjoying like Evans, Fleury, Vejdemo, and Alain. They'll be second year players and the experience their gaining this year should help them a lot. Also encouraging is that once McNiven was given meaningful playing time, he started to show his qualities.

1-0 after one period for Toronto. Laval was the better team. 14-7 shots in favor of the Rocket. But you see the lack of finishers is what is doing them in on many plays.

Laval started continuing their domination from the 1st. They're now on the PK. And McNiven with a nice save to keep them from making it 2-0.

6 minutes into the second, and the shots are 8-4 in the period (22-11 in total) for Laval.

Edit: and I say that a few moments before Toronto makes it 2-0 on the PP. Nice snipe by Carcone. Feigning a shot that Lernout and McNiven bite on, but he holds onto the puck an extra second and changes his shot angle.

Laval with the best chances while shorthanded. Waked with a great patient play on a 2-on-1 with Evans. However, Evans received the puck on his backhand and couldn't convert.

Verbeek ended up getting a breakaway but Hutchinson with a great glove save.

And just now, Laval could have scored again.

Good to see they're not letting the score bring them down. They'd already give up last year.

Verbeek with another opportunity, but a blocker save that sends the puck to the netting.

Verbeek has slowly, slowly started to come out of his shell lately. Good to see. That kid's got wheels on him.

2-0 after two periods for Toronto.

The same story as the first period continues. Laval mostly dominates and out-shoots and out-chances the opponent, but it's the opponent who gets the goals.

Carr is dominating the A

Yup. The league's top scorer. I wasn't too happy when he wasn't qualified last off-season. I think he definitely deserved to be extended. I don't know if he'd be as dominant as he is now if he was with Laval. But he sure as hell would be one hell of a boost for this team.

Laval gets shut out. No one should ever criticize the effort level. Especially considering it's one of, if not the youngest team in the league full of rookies.

Isn't that Grenier on the first picture, #28. It is #37 on the game lineup.
