I've notice a problem with today's stats!!! :teach:

It's the 2nd period of Russia - Sweden, Russia is up 1-0. Ovechkin carries the puck into the Swedish zone, and passes the puck to Afinogenov on the right side. Then Afinogenov passes it to Yashin in the slot who unleashes a wrist shot at the net. Lundqvist stops the shot, but the rebound goes to Ovechkin who scores.

However according to the official scoresheet, provided by torino2006.com (http://www.torino2006.org/ENG/IDF/IH/C74_IHM400B04.html), Ovechkin's goal was assisted exclusively by Yashin.

OK, I thought "IIHF rules must be different from the NHL, and they probably award only 1 assist on rebound goals".

BUT, later today I watched Canada - Germany.

It's the 1st period, Canada leads 1-0. Bertuzzi has the puck in the offensive zone, passes it to Nash who shoots. Greiss stops the puck with his left pad, but the rebound goes to Sakic who scores.

Now get a look at the official boxscore : http://www.torino2006.org/ENG/IDF/IH/C74_IHM400A06.html

It says Sakic was assisted by Nash AND Bertuzzi!!!

GIVE THAT ASSIST TO AFINOGENOV ALREADY!!! HE DESERVED IT!!!

Actually ... no!!! :D

It's just that when Max is finally making some efficient plays (and not just some fruitless chances), he doesn't get the recognition!!!

Bertuzzi was screwed out of an assist yesterday as well. He actually had three in the Italy game, but the scoresheet only had 2.
