Didn't see anything for AFCON on here. Looking forward to the tournament I think it should be a good one for Ghana. Group D looking like the group of death at this point.

Anyone got any predictions?

Egypt playing at home should be a good boost for them, as long as the local media and fans give Salah some space, he will have a lot of pressure

As for Algeria, not too hot about Slimani and Guedioura getting a call up, but we’ll see. Slimani still has experience in Africa so it’s not completely negative

Taider and Bentaleb not being called is good news

Very happy to see Bennacer in the list

Ghoulam prefers to focus on the upcoming season with Napoli, so f*** him

I'm interested to see how Morocco does, they were arguably the better team in all of their World Cup games last year but didn't win any of them, owing partly to a difficult draw.

Bruges, Belgium
This seems like an obvious question, but isn't it way too hot to be playing football in the middle of the summer on Egypt?

Then and there
It took longer than expected, but Nigeria finally managed to score against Burundi and held on to the win. They're weren't especially good by any means, but luckily the other countries in the group aren't world beaters.

Again, Cameroon have had their usual money problems (players not being paid and directors pocketing the money, European players paying their own flights), so some more established players decided to skip the tournament. It seems that decent FIFA purge on the federation didn't doo much. Interesting to see what becomes of the wider spat between FIFA's Infantino and Uefa Cheverin regarding the handling of the CAF problems.

Morocco have a terrific roster. Struggled mightily against Namibia in the first half...Don't think i've heard of a single Namibian player.

Senegal lead 1-0 at half-time (Balde goal), but could be more since Niang squandered a couple of good chances. Tanzania are fouling a lot and aren't really attacking at all.

Excited for Ghana to finally kick things off tomorrow. Time for the Black Stars to get back to their African winning ways
