So? That's what goaltenders are for. Lately people are acting like we're supposed to feel bad for having a good goalie or something.

The goalie is a part of the team, so if you can't beat the opposing team's goalie, then how exactly did you 'outplay' that team? By cycling around in their zone, maybe getting some good chances, having them stopped and giving up four goals? Great job. You still lost the game 4-0.

Uhum. I vividly remember when we were losing to NJ because of Brodeur, NJ fans used to say "you never should apologize for good goalie". We need to make it our avatar this year "Corsi, we are sorry for our good goalies... NOT!!!"

Is there anyone that can make it?

There are 2 sides of the issue:
- Corsi = Jesus
- Corsi = The Devil

It seems like no one is willing to take it for what it is... a stat.

Does it 100% determine the outcome of a game? No.
Does getting sub .900 goaltending determine the outcome of a game? No... but its probably something you want to improve..

Stats in hockey will never be what they are in baseball for obvious reasons.

But the number of categories and algorithms will increase in hockey stats.

However, just like in baseball, those who approach stats with a hybrid approach will be the ones who gain the most benefit from them.

No one really seriously advocates only looking at stats. They are simply another tool that teams will start to use more and more.

Phaneuf and Kessel are terrible as measured by Corsi. I'm not sure who is stupid enough to cliam that they are not good NHL hockey players aside from a few advanced stats geeks who don't watch hockey.

Also that 30% correlation is pretty bad. That means 70% of why teams win is not even described or correlated with Corsi.
