maximum contract lenght is 4 years
If you add those triggers that would help owners from blowing there brains out then i think the deal would work. It won't be a hard cap but when they sign a dumb deal ( yashin, 9 large for 10 years),they can get out of it sooner or at a lower buy out rate, as well they can keep the draft picks longer at reasonable rates.
Congrats to the player for a big claw back but a little more tweaking and a deal should and could get done.
