Adam Larsson for Taylor Hall takes me back to the 1995 trade of Chris Pronger for Brendan Shanahan.
Pronger was 2nd year #2 overall pick coming off a 5 goal 14 point season in 43 games. Playing in a mediocre hockey market in Hartford.
Shanahan was a star winger playing in a strong hockey market in St Louis. Coming off 2 straight 50 goal seasons.
The trade appeared very lopsided at the time. Fan outrage.
We all know how that one turned out. Just fine for both sides.
Funny that Edmonton is suffering from the curse of trading Pronger. Have not made the playoffs since sending him to Anaheim for Joffrey Lupul (WTF)?
I think both sides are going to be just fine here.
