Por que no los dos? Hoping for Sutter to come back soon so he can join Gaudette in the lineup. With Roussel returning, our forward group is deep even if the top 6 could use more quality. Hoping for a big push towards the playoffs when our forwards start getting healthier.

I like how he shoots. I'm coming around on his top 6 upside. Still struggles in his own zone, but I really like how he has a shooters mentality. I hope he keeps it up. I don't think he'll continue to produce at this rate, but he's definitely becoming a big part of the team.

He brings energy and excitement. Hoping it continues.

13 points in 19 games. Already a new career high. If he keeps up the pace that would equate to a 56 point season with 26 goals.
Gaudette and Madden when he makes the club would give us very good depth down the middle with EP, Horvat, Gaudette and Madden. Beagle may be gone by the time Madden is ready or could also see Madden being moved to the wing at some point. And all four of those centers are tenacious checkers which would give us a strong two way game down the middle. Add in Podzolkin at wing along with some combination of Boeser, Rousell, Leivo, Miller, Pearson, Motte, Schaller, Virtanen, Ferland etc and that is a tough group to play against in both ends. Of course jumping ahead a bit adding Pod and Madden but not too far fetched.

Gaudette has definitely solidified a spot on the team...With the return of Roussel, and Ferland,Sutter on the horizon..There's going to be some interesting roster decisions.

Once evryone is healthy the first couple of roster decisions are fairly easy. With a baseline of last night's roster and Goldobin being the extra forward, Sutter and Beagle in, MacEwen and Goldobin back to Utica, Eriksson in the pressbox.
It's when Ferland then Motte get healthy that issues arise. With Ferland healthy, I don't see how Eriksson stays on this team. One of Schaller, Virtanen, Leivo or Ferland will be in the press box. Then, in the unlikely event that Motte gets healthy and no one else is injured, it becomes very interesting.

I know, they can package Baertschi, Goldobin, and Eriksson for a first and a second, then flip the second plus Virtanen for another first - problem solved!

Two first rounders for Baertschii, Goldy, Virtanen and Eriksson? I thought 'Fantasy Island' went off the air years ago. But I guess the purpose of these boards is to 'dream big'.

But seriously, Gaudette is now past his waiver ineligibility, so he obviously isn't going anywhere. Now Green has just to commit to playing him, once everybody is back. With 13 points in 19 games, you'd think that would be a no-brainer, but not with Green.

And as far as Goldy is concerned..... Obviously he's heading back down after only one game where he played some first period shifts; then rode the pine for the second and third. I like Goldy, but he's basically done with this coach.

last year and part of this year, many people would comment "not ready for NHL", "isn't fast enough", "pushed off the puck too easily"

I read comments like that a lot. Seemingly every game he played... but i never saw it. I was seriously starting to question my sanity lol. He always looked fast , and positionally sound etc.

Finally, i'm reading comments on HF that support what i've been seeing since he played his first game last year.

I think he's a bit of a diamond in the rough, but he's beginning to come around. Don't know if he'll be the 2C... but a legit top 6 guy certainly looks in the cards.

The biggest threat to Gaudette's progress as an NHL player, is hardly the yin an yang of posters on these boards. It's Green, who loves his Sutters and Beagles.

That's the reason he was stapled to the press-box early in the season; dispatched to Utica and played sparingly when he was in the lineup. And seems destined for the wing again now. Not very good asset management imo.

There has been a very noticeable improvement in skating ability since he first entered the league (even compared to the beginning of this season). He looked a little sluggish at times especially later in his shifts.

Starting to see some puck-hound tendencies to his game.

He can still be an adventure at times in his own end but he will work that out. I think he is going to settle into a solid second line center in this league.

The question is for who?

VanJack nails it again. Ive lost hope in Coach Green, his assessment of how to use Gaudette has been a complete joke. If Gaudette does turn into a surething top 6 guy it will be because INSPITE of Green not because of him

He’s on pace for 55 points even though he only got a real opportunity in an offensive in the last few games. Kid is going to be a f***ing monster, 30 goals, 30 assists easy. Power play specialist who can score and make plays and skate with energy and provide elite goal celebrations.

This 1 pick in the 5th round is better than all of Gillis’ picks combined lmao

He's a beauty. It's fun to watch him make plays. Dunno if he can hack it as a center though, it's hard to start every play having to chase the opponent. Gonna have to put in a lot more reps with Manny...or just move him to wing.

doesn't hurt if he can transition to wing effectively. would sure fill a hole.
