Not surprising. Still think he's spends the whole year in Rockford playing big minutes

That's the key! Developing in the AHL playing big minutes vs playing bottom pairing minutes or being pushed into a top 6 when you aren't ready goes a long way.

Agreed. One of the youngest players his draft year. They knew they would have to be patient with him. No reason to speed up his timeline now.
Besides barring a trade their d men for the hawks are pretty well set.

London is paying well these days. (sarcastic font)

What is his actual OHL salary?
They get around $470 a month last time I looked. That's pretty much pure spending money, most of the gear and other items related to playing are typically covered by the team.

Considering he's played games in the SuperElit and SHL I'm sure he's had a decent pay cut.

Literally probably not that far off 100k. You’d be surprised how much these kids are getting under the table

Smart move for the kid a year in the AHL is the correct move. On a side note losing Formenton, Boqvist, and Bouchard is rough for the knights.

Why would this be even considered news? You would have had to have been living under a rock to not know boqvist was making a serious argument to make the team or end up in Rockford. It was well known for months.

Is this really news? When was the last time a non-college prospect who was eligible to play in the AHL returned to juniors? The only reason prospects even play in the CHL is because they're too young for the AHL.

Boqvist has a better than 60% chance of making the team. This kid has vastly improved and he is truly exciting to watch.

If he does make the team Chicago has enough defensive talent to pair him up with .

Worst case he gets called up at end of season or makes the team next year.

But this kid is electrifying and will become Chicago's number 1 defenseman
