No need to re-write anything, when you have the games on DVD and pair of eyes and you know thing or two.

But if you need some more convincing, there is a good read for you (written by a Canadian journalist):

Game 2:

Game 3:

But yeah, I'm beginning to feel the same thing about you; no longer worth to do this ----> :banghead:

Just to flog a dead horse a bit...

Now, I never even based any arguments on the fact (=fact to those who have watched the games and give a damn) that there are some, although very little, statistical errors concerning the WHA 1974 Summit series.

I.e. based on THE OFFICIAL STATISTICS, USSR's top line + their defensemen scored 13 goals (about 40 %) in the 1974 Summit Series. If someone thinks that it is a poor performance, well, what can I say?

And anyone trying to downplay Kharlamov's or the top line's skills and importance to the national team, GOOD LUCK. It is him/her who tries to re-write the history, I'd say. When I'm saying that Fetisov, Firsov and Makarov were better or at least just as good as Kharlamov, it isn't so much that Kharlamov is overrated, but rather that the aforementioned players are underrated.

BTW, IN CASE THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED in the 1972 Summit series statistics, here is little something worth a read:

http://www.1972summitseries.com/statisticsstudy.html

Now, I had noticed that the stats have many errors way before I read that. And anyone with a time, patience, interest and some knowledge can come to the same conclusion. Not that the official stats will ever be replaced, but this can always be mentioned, especially when someone thinks that they are gospel. Dang you!
