Anyone asking for proof that Nico is a premiere talent in the league should watch this tape. Just a dominant performance, best player on the ice in a way you don’t often see so repeatedly over 65 minutes of play. Crosby class dominance at times - something I hadn’t seen him do before.

That tying goal with 5 minutes left was all Nico’s creating. Without that, I can only imagine the tone and contents of this thread. To have lost a game on two short handed goals after firing 50 shots and 4 posts would not have made for relaxing post game discussion. Or a good nights sleep. There would also have been a certain amount of discussion of Blackwood’s getting beat on those 2 successive 2 on 1s. How precisely in fact does one blow a 3d period lead by giving up 2 clean odd man rushes within 30 seconds like that? And with the man advantage too. Hard to do.

He will be in a short time period. That is why I was against signing Hall to a long term deal. I had these visions of Hall being a boat anchor on a contract he was under performing while Nico and Jack are in their primes. A couple of tough seasons early in a players career are not necessarily a detriment. MacKinnon had years/teams worse than Nico has had. The key is having a good team around those players when they are in their primes.

Absolutely horrendous in overtime. Worst player on ice bad. Only logical conclusion a reasonable person can have watching that period of play.
