This thread is chalk full of hypocrites bashing Nuge for exactly what people were ragging on Draisaitl for earlier this year. Difference is Nuge doesn't have massive homers defending every one of his plays.
Wait, the difference is Drai being an allstar player, one of the very best in the world, the 2nd leading scorer in the league, a regular in topten production vs a career also ran player who is ALWAYS content being far less than he could be.

Theres no hypocrisy whatsoever in calling out Nuge, and lol, historically he has some of the most unconditional support seen on these boards. Until recently it was almost an infraction to critique Nuge here..

Drai vs Nuge is really the tale of two players with entirely different paths. One chose stardom and would settle for nothing less. The other chose being good enough.

Absolutely, Nuge always gets the free pass and comparing him to Draisaitl is ridiculous for all the reasons you mentioned. Nuge is now touted as a 2 way player, that’s a joke. When I think of 2 way players the likes of Bergeron, Toews and Kopitar come to mind, Nuge is nothing like these guys. Nuge isn’t a sniper, a playmaker, a grinder, a checker, a hitter, a face-off specialist or a penalty killer, the only thing left to call him is a 2 way player. One that is a minus player year after year and could be the softest Oiler in the 40 year history of the franchise. And that includes Hemsky

You clearly have difficulty reading. I'll say it very slowly for you for the umpteenth time. The main issue I had, was that the contract offer could have waited much later, and would have given management a better assessment of what they had and produced a potentially more accurate offer. I have never wavered from that. Are you somehow able to comprehend that?

That wasn't your point firstly, you stated pretty explicitly that you didn't beleive him to be a starter. But on the point you are trying to make, you wanted us to sign him when exactly? Much later like when he's an unrestricted free agent? His save percentage has stabilized for another 20 games in the .920s? After the trade deadline to where we have no idea what to do with Talbot and then lose him for nothing?

And you did all that complaining for a contract that's not even in the Top 20 in the League for Starting Goalie contracts.

If Kosko is who a lot of us think he is already, without needing to risking him testing UFA market, then we got a bargain on that deal.

RNH is a huge disappointment for a 1st OA pick. He's a good 2C or complimentary player but he was supposed to be a PPG, playmaking, 1st line C.

I don't see how anyone could argue this. So many good players thrown under the bus by this fan base over the years, but RNH has never faced any heat at all. Eberle got run out of town for having two assists and being a minus player in the playoffs. His center during that entire stretch, who still has no clue how to carry the puck over a blueline and make an actual play, and had similar poor stats, was excused because 'playing with Jordan'. Huh? And lets be clear, Eberle has more offensive creativity on his worst days than I've seen from RNH in many many years.

@bobbythebrain said a couple things I agree with, and they are things I've been criticizing RNH for for years. I'm not going to agree with the weak on the boards stuff because that's like asking a leopard to change its spots. Some guys just don't have the physical strength or the body type to win those battles consistently, and that's fine with me. I know some fans aren't going to agree with that, and that's OK too. However, if you want to play center in this league, you damn well better have some options in your tool kit when it comes to breaking over the blueline. RNH has none.
Carrying it over the blueline he still resorts to shooting or fails to make a lateral pass.

In all honesty, you can predict what Nuge is gonna do 90% of the time.
I'd like to see someone who is upset at the criticism RNH is facing recently to explain either a) how those points are wrong, or b) why they don't matter.
