Moose Jaw Warriors forward Garrett Robinson is in a Regina hospital with life-threatening injuries after an accident in central Moose Jaw early Sunday morning.

Warriors General Manager Chad Lang says Robinson suffered serious head trauma when the car he and two teammates were driving was struck at the corner of Caribou Street and 4th Avenue NW. Warriors players Joey Perricone and Carter Smith were treated and released from hospital.

The occupants of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries. Moose Jaw Police say alcohol was a factor, and charges are pending. Lang says the Warriors players had not been drinking.

The team had just returned from a game in Red Deer. They don't play again until Friday in Prince Albert, and no decision has been made on whether that game will go ahead.

Geoff Smith, Brendan McGuire, and Nigel Maxwell reporting.
