Seems like every year for the last 10 I've gone to see the Caps play the Sharks at home, and each year we are simply no match for their size down the middle, the tenacity and strength of their forwards, and the relative cohesiveness of their D group. Also Holtby usually gives up at least 1 cheapie to the Sharks. Apart from Braden not playing tonight, any reason to think it won't be wash, rinse, repeat this year.

Our D pairings should be listed like this
Orpik-Carlson
Orlov-Niskanen
Djoos-
-Bowey

Where can I see how many minutes (or seconds lol) Djoos and Bowey have played together?

Yea they usually beat us. Pretty sure we went into San Jose and won two/3 years ago when Chris brown had that late goal for the caps

The Sharks are struggling a little bit too. 5-3-2 in their past 10, we are 6-4-0. Both teams come into this game equally hot, although they are coming off a loss and we're coming off a win. We're at home, let's win this.

Good memory! 5-4OT in San Jose Feb '15. Last time Caps beat the Sharks in D.C. was by the score of 4-1, all the way back in Oct 2009.

San Jose is 5-3-2 in their last 10. 3rd in Pacific, Canucks have same points but less wins.
25-14-9-2
Goals For-64 ranked 30th.
Goals Against-56 ranked 1st
Ranked 2nd for Shots Against (fewest)
PP-16.9% 25th
PK-87.65% 2nd
Their Away record 7-3-1

It's gonna be a real boring game. Caps have to get shots through, screen the goalie, and get more sustained offense going. San Jose will pounce on any mistakes the Caps make, they're patient, and will wait for our forwards to get impatient.
Caps scratch up a point in 2-1 OT loss.

its really weird how we cant beat the sharks at home but we can beat them on road where we barely ever play well

Yeah, 8 years 2 months! And it was in 1999, before that! Alot of WSH-SJ games seem to be pretty close, a fair amount going to OT/SO, but 8 years! The other thing I noticed about this years Sharks, is that they play better on the road 7-3-1, than they do at home, 7-6-1.
All time vs Sharks
11-27-1
6-14-0 in DC
5-13-1 in SJ
2014 we beat them in SJ
The last time we beat them in Cali before that, 1993-94!
We did get a tie in 1997.
