I currently think a depth approach is the best way to go... I also don't like a pure-shut down line, if they're playing that much TOI they need to be 2-way.
JVR - Bozak - Kessel
Lupul - Kadri - Clarkson
MayRay - Bolland - Kulemin
D'amigo - McClement - Orr/Ashton/Broll/Devane etc.
Gardiner - Phaneuf
Gunnarson - Rielly
Ranger/Liles - Franson
Bernier/Reimer
As for the goalies, at this point I have no clue who's going to be better... Reimer seems to work really hard on his bad traits (the past year it was rebound control and absorbing the puck). He seems to put a lot of effort into his game to constantly make sure he's improving. Bernier on the other hand seems to have an insane amount of talent, and if he can stop from letting in the soft goalies I'd bet on him... Both are great goalies and will be (or are) legit starting 1As.
I want Franson on the 3rd pairing getting little even strength and lots of PP toi (unless we can trade him). Split Gunnar/Phaneuf so that we can have an OFD with TWD/DFD on both of the top two pairings.
As for the forwards, I'm a HUGE fan of Kadri and think he's our best C (Bolland is pretty great too), but for now I want him on the 2nd pairing to give us some awesome scoring depth as well as a more balanced line-up (having defensive guys like Bozak on the first line as well as scoring players like MayRay on the 3rd).
Edit: To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't say no to trading MayRay + Franson for picks, promoting leivo to the 3rd line (or D'amigo to the 3rd... but then our 4th line starts to get a bit useless) and the bottom pairing Liles-Ranger. We could also trade a package of MayRay/Franson/Bozak/Fraser/Kulemin/picks for another C like Bolland or better as well as a D-upgrade. I feel like all these players (perhaps the exception being Kulemin) are replaceable from within our organization (D'amigo/Leivo can play 3rd line IMO, we have lots of bottom pairing dmen too).
