I feel that this is issue of the power five forming their own league and leaving the NCAA was a long time coming and the current pandemic has only hastened the timeline. Any thoughts of the implications for college hockey in general....

By my count, there are nine "power five" schools with men's varsity hockey teams: BC, ASU, and the seven B1G teams. I doubt the NCAA would allow them to play the member schools, so their schedules would be a little light.

Also, people need to remember that there are other sports aside from football and basketball. Those sports fund the vast majority of athletic departments, no question. If the football and basketball teams left the NCAA, well, there goes the rest of the athletic department once the sugar daddy is cut off.
