Looks like we have an I-70 series, again with an upstart team from KC facing an establishment fixture in St. Louis. Not much to add managerial-wise - same lineups and rotation for this round. This could well be a pick 'em series with KC having a slight edge in pitching depth while the Cardinals have a slight edge in lineup depth.

My main concern is keeping the Cardinals' great top of the lineup off the bases. Boggs is formidable and Cobb/Lajole are obviously all-time players, my hope for this series is the latter duo aren't used to facing pitchers this side of Walter Johnson that could just rear back and chuck gas like Koufax, Feller and Goose among others. Not that the lineup gets much easier after that although perhaps the Monarchs' strikeout pitchers can exploit the fact Killebrew and Reggie...strike out a lot.

Of course my own top of the lineup will have its hands full in a showdown with a great throwing catcher in Hartnett. Offensively for the Monarchs, perhaps an x-factor can be the scouting reports our hitters can provide on the Cardinal pitchers - since Cool Papa played with ol' Satch, the Robinsons obviously played with Palmer and Gehrig with Lefty Gomez ;) However it happens, I need my lineup of speed at the top and power in the middle to provide just enough runs to support the pitching in the matchups of aces and hope my righty-heavy lineup can get it going against Cardinals' 3-4 lefty starters.

Satchel Paige won 2 games and drove in a pair of runs as the Cardinals escape with a 4-2 series win.

Congrats on putting together a great team Devs, could have definitely went either way.
