Called himself as a power-forward. Wright mentioned he is good on the net. Skating issues.

Future Tomas Holmström-type at maximum.

Before leaving with mono illness late January 2018, Ryan O'Reilly was the #1 leading goal scoring rookie in the USHL, tied for the top 3 overall in goal scoring in the USHL, the top 2000 birth year goal scorer in the USHL, and had the best shooting percentage overall in the USHL for forwards/defenseman over 10 games played.

For USHL players born in the 2000 birth year, Ryan completed the 2017- 2018 regular season as second in goals scored per game played finishing just behind Oliver Wahlstrom, and led the top 5 goal scorers in shooting percentage at 20.8%.

Ryan also finished the 2017 - 2018 regular season tied for second in the USHL rookie goal scoring with 21 goals, and was selected as a member of the USHL All-Rookie Teams. For players in the USHL born in the 2000 birth year, Ryan was still one of the top five goal scorers with 21 goals even though he had to sit out a considerable amount of the 2nd half of the season with mononucleosis and missed 15 games.

Ranked 58th among North American skaters on NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings.

Selected by the USHL and NHL Central Scouting to compete in the 2018 USHL / NHL Top Prospects Game. Finished with the top 5 overall score for the USHL On-Ice Testing completed by Sports Testing Inc for all players selected to play in the 2018 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game testing speed, agility and skating, both with and without the puck.

Selected by USA Hockey and NHL Central Scouting to compete in the sixth annual CCM / USA Hockey All - American Prospects Game. Ryan scored the game tying goal in the third period.

Committed to play D1 college hockey at the University Of Denver.

Drafted in Round 1, and #4 Overall, by the USHL Madison Capitols, in Phase 1 of the 2016 USHL Draft.

Finished #1 in the Tier One Elite Hockey League (T1EHL) for total goals scored in the league during the regular 2016 - 2017 season.

He is on par to have less points than last year. Anyone have some insights on his progression?

Is that Fargo Force just weaker or more defensive team?

O'Reilly is 4th best scorer there, even though he is scoring less per game.

Last season he was only 7th best scorer in Madison, even though he scored more points per game.

He has been ok from what I have seen. If anything he actually looks a bit bigger if that is even possible. Skating is still the big, big issue. It looks a bit better but is obviously still a weakness. While he has really heavy feet and an ugly posture, he does have a pretty good motor and does actively move his feet and pursue the play which is good.

ROR is very much a long-term prospect. He isn't going to jump up the prospect rankings overnight.

I really hope that he stays all 4 years at college, develops well, and then joins the Wings.

Why is this important?

Because we need the second wave guys on that time period, when our Elite-core ELCs will end. Like 2019 1st pick, Zadina, Veleno etc. When those guys will get their pricy 2nd contracts, which is usually the biggest payrise on their career, we need these 22-aged college guys to jump in with a cheap ELC.

Then we can keep the same-aged core together under cap, and their careers peak together. That's how contender is born.

Then the positive circle starts rolling, everybody will want to join us because we are good again. We can trade from surplus to fix roster holes when UFAs are calling for Yzerman etc etc.

Quite sure he'll be let walk.

Usually signed guys are almost point per game Top line players. Still nothing about Mastrosimone.

He's a 3rd liner there.
