To anyone who watched, how does this preseason compare to previous years? Is preseason at all an indicator of how the season will go? So far we haven’t looked very good but I’ve never paid attention to preseason games during previous years so maybe that’s the norm.

The first games we took a ton of penalties despite players being told to work on that aspect of the game. I wondered if that is normal during preseason, or if it could be an indicator of Coop losing the players. Last game I don’t think we took very many penalties, so maybe it was just nerves, rust, bad officiating, etc. the first few games causing the penalties.

Pre-seasons don't correlate, especially the early games where a smaller percentage of the roster are even NHLers.

It’s always hard to say for individual players because everyone’s different. There’s always some veteran players who start slow and take a little time to get going and likewise there’s some rookies who do well in the preseason and then slow down through October.

thanks for the fine spread days howdy ya'll

preseason doesnt correlate at all imho 2 maybe 3 times you ice your team in preseason is really working rust off in practice attention to the plan... look at last game pretty much fullest roster we have had.... if we get some power plays this game coulda easily went to us... i thought for most part we were the better team by a large margin... kucherov fumbling a puck hedman gets beat etc... is really the little things good news id rather have some basic things to work on over huge issues i dont see this team with many issues......

one thing id like to change this year is moving stammer and point around more often get stammer in middle at times point on other side or sneak someone like johnny over there etc... sooner or later everyone has seen our plan yep it worked all last year so if continues to work you dont mess with it if dries up at times maybe some small tweaks at times.....

i was used to detroit probably 20 years watching preseason playing starting lineup maybe 2 times and losing 3 of 5 on the regular so ya people aint hitting etc.. is a good place though for youth to shine which ive seen happen for us ....

preseason im hoping everyone stays healthy palat is fine just a day off
