It's baseball. I'm letting my guys hit the ball, throw the ball, and catch the ball.

I do think letting my backup catcher dictate your strategy/lineup plays in my favor though.

Game 1 in St. Louis saw Bob Gibson slip a bit and give up 2 earned runs. Cards took the first tilt 4-2 on the strength of a pair of doubles by The Duke.

In Game 2 the Biscuits used laser pointers to distract Rube Waddell and it worked to the tune of Rube giving up 7 walks including one to Jim Leyland somehow. Biscuits in a walkaway 7-1.

Game 3 in Montgomery was ironically cornbread giveaway night. Fans loved it. They did. Dizzy Dean proclaimed himself to be better than bread itself and he was right (I guess), as he limited the Biscuits to 6 hits over 8 innings, 5 of them singles en route to a 3-1 win.

In Game 4, Albert Pujols asserted himself a force to be reckoned with in any series as he drove in 5 breads with a pair of homeruns and a double. The Biscuits once again even the series.

Game 5 was another see saw battle, this time it was Bucketfoot Al Simmons playing hero as he tripled home Tony Gwynn in the 7th to squeak out a Cardinals win 4-3.

A raucous Montgomery was the scene for Game 6 as many fans took to chanting things such as Go Biscuits! and Hey man, that's my foot! Moving on....the series is tied!! the series is tied!!! Biscuits legend Mike Schmidt made 2 outstanding defensive plays and drove in 3 as Montgomery forced a deciding 7th game by the score of 6-4.

Game 7 back in St. Louis was not short on drama as many taller players decided this one. 6'2 Dwight Evans hit a homerun in the 6th to give the Cards a lead and 6'4 Rob Dibble struck out the side with 2 runners on in the 8th to propel the Cards into the next round.

Great series DHF, great team there.
