Benning would be more like Kevin Malone. Unintelligent, bad hair, awkward, no one knows for certain what he does or why he works there.

Judd Bracket is David Wallace. Intelligent competent and tolerant of management around him.

Weisbrod is Ryan Howard. Arrogant, self-centered, cocky, distrustful. Shouldnt have a job but there is a strange loyalty to him from the boss.

Naw, Michael Scott was good at sales, which catapulted him to manager: a position at which he is woefully inept. Unfortunately, he lacks the intelligence, and also the self-awareness, to realize this.

This is exacerbated by his being surrounded with a yes-man like Dwight, and also upper management’s reluctance to hold him to account because they don’t want to lose his sales abilities as they think that’s more important than the other managerial tasks.
