Not my normal chosen genre but the tune is concurrently self-serving in addition to open to interpretation for hockey chatter.

seeing Townsend just whale on the guitar is just a blessing. Plus the base is just incredible. Something tells me and I could be completly wrong but I could see you whaling on that guitar lol

was trying to find that song with eddie vedder joining but it's on sirius not youtube.

I have seen the Who a few times. I was more of a cultivated head banger now looking in the rearview mirror..:sarcasm:

Just left the Isles-Sabers game and the Isles stadium is trash compared to WFC, but damn their fans are loud and go all game. Almost was giving me a headache lol. Wish our fans cared as much during games like they used to.

With Hak - first totally meaningless game February, 28th.

Without Hak - first totally meaningless game March 31st.

That's more than one month better. Yeah!

Let's go Flyers, or not because a better draft pick would be good.

They will as soon as we get our **** together - that's the last thing we have to worry about. Even if the crowd is more corporate and/or "family-oriented" than it used to be (no idea if it is), there will still be more than enough passion in there. We have gone six years with garbage coaching and system chaos, and a huge chunk of that time was a rebuild on the fly - it's not easy to get people fired up about Nick Schultz and Hak Hockey.

Who gets more more points in last 4 games, Konecny or Lindblom? Need to know who to start for last week in my pool. Big Konecny fan, but I'm beyond frustrated with his usage, and have been for a LONG time now. Yet somehow he gets about as many points as Lindblom who is top 6 right now. Any advice would be much appreciated. Also curious on what you guys foresee next year for Konecny's usage. Bottom 6? I was hoping for a breakout this year from TK, but now I don't know WTF to think heading into next year.

In that Flyers-Rangers playoff game video, Bobby Clarke downplays the need for veteran experience and says in between periods, "We've relied on our youth and enthusiasm to carry us all year."

Konecny won't have a huge breakout because he is not on the top PP...and won't be.

He is 16th in RW scoring the last 2 years at ES. That's pretty good. Whereas on the PP, he only has 11 points in 2 years. Compare that to Voracek with 51.

With TK, expect 40-50 ES points and less than 10 PP points in a good season.

Told you it takes 7 years for a complete rebuild, this is year 5 (thank Holmgren for not seeing the writing on the wall after the 2011-12 playoffs and wasting two years trying to squeeze into the playoffs with dreck).
You can see the talent arriving and the talent on the way.

It has never been about coaching, it's been about trying to compete with 4 (5 before they traded Schenn) forwards, no anchor on defense and shaky goalies. Better coaching will help, but what will really help is talent depth to the extent that there are real battles in TC every year for the 4th line and 3rd pair defense, and if a starter falters/is injured, there's a quality substitute waiting for an opportunity to shine.

The reason we've had to watch a long list of scrubs (which is why I never got uptight about scrubs, since the guys behind them were also scrubs) is Holmgren stripped the farm system and blew out the cap - hard to get talent when you can't buy it and you haven't developed it. This started in 2011-12 and got worse as all those veterans Holmgren tried to patch with aged out of the NHL.

The shame is Holmgren had put together a solid core through the Richards/Carter trades, then blew it.
2011-12: Giroux (24), Simmonds (23), Voracek (22), Couts (19), JVR (22), Schenn (20), Carle (27), Coburn (26), Bob (23)
2013-14: Giroux (26), Simmonds (25), Voracek (24), Couts (21), Schenn (22), Coburn (28)
2018-19: Couts (26), TK (21), Lindblom (22), Patrick (20), Sanheim (22), Provorov (22), Ghost (25), Myers (22), Morin (23), Hart (20)
