Ok, I'm going to try and do Math.

Big win for Leafs over florida and them losing in regulation huge.

So

Flyers 78 gms 92
FLA 75 gms 85

Yes FLA has 3 extra games but even if they won those and got 6 pts we would still be up 1, so as of now we have that covered, lets hope they don't win but atleast we have something in our favor

Fla plays at OTT tomorrow so lets pray to god sens win outright or atleast win in OT or shootout.

Lets look at FLA remaining oppenents.

@ Sens
@ BOS sat
vs CAR
vs NSH
vs BOS
vs BUF
@ BOS

so they play bruins 3x so lets hope B's can win all 3 or take 2 of 3. Preds will give them a good game to.

If they won out the best they could do is 99 pts Best flyers could get is 100 if they won out.

So will see, I think 95 or 96 does it for flyers

The best strategy usually is to just take care of your own business and take up as many points as possible. And all of FLA, NJD and CBJ have many games left against opponents looking from outside. I agree though that common sense leads to the conclusion that 96 points will mean a WC spot because not all of them will win next to every single game. For example the Devils are playing Pittsburgh. So let´s be pessimistic and say the Devils win this one. This on the other hand would mean Pittburgh are new members of the WC spot competition...

In other words two points against the Bruins on sunday might almost seal the deal.

I love the fact that the Bruins are a veteran team trying to win this year and they just slap Donato onto the 2nd line and PP2 with no pro experience and he's got 5 points in 5 games.

Can't see that ever happening here.

Hold on for a second.

You mean McAvoy does not get benched for the last 5 minutes in the 3rd period?

Or does Carlo really get PP time?

Is DeBrusk allowed to play in the 3rd period at all?

But they have vets in Wingels, Holden and Postma. I 'd say you are wrong .......

This is the Bruins' 3rd game in 4 days, with the previous game starting less than 24 hours before this one. Flyers have 3 days off after returning from Colorado. Both the Devils and Panthers have 2 games in between this one, so they should either be hungry to stay in a playoff spot or hungry to nearly clinch one.

Having said all that, I don't think it would shock anyone if the Flyers came out completely flat and got dominated. That tends to happen to them after rest and on daytime games.

Hilarious.

McAvoy is 20 and is getting 22 minutes per night. Sanheim, drafted 2 years earlier, got 12 minutes last night.

yup, it's part of the reason why it kills me that Leier doesn't get any playing time while Weise and Lehtera are now back in the lineup. He's young, fast and hungry. In general I always have preferred speed over anything else when it comes to marginal players. I was outraged when they sent Eric Wellwood down and he got hurt.

If you're gonna suck, do it quickly. (TWSS)

I've been told numerous times how Leier is a dime-a-dozen player and actually useless.

He may never be more than a fourth line player but he was one of the reasons why our 4th line was damn good at the beginning of the season. Incredible how Hakstol managed to neuter them.

Neuvy "lower body injury", wonder what that could be?.. Hope he is alright, maybe some yoga should be thrown into the training program there

The comparison is with Provorov, who gets more minutes.
Sanheim simply isn't comparable to either of these players.
And wasn't 21 year old Lindblom put on the Flyers 2nd line, along with 19 year old Patrick?
And 21 year old Konecny on the Flyer's 1st line.

Look for the Flyers to be a very different team from last night, with three days between games and playing at sea level.

Sanheim is directly comparable to McAvoy. He's the Flyers' No. 3 defenseman, with none of the others even in the same conversation as him. They're around the same draft slot with Sanheim being 2 years older. The Bruins have a loaded roster with huge expectations and they slapped McAvoy right into the lineup and give him huge minutes even after having heart surgery. The Flyers' defense has been a dumpster fire for years and Sanheim spent 90 games longer in the AHL learning how to play like Andy MacDonald or something.

Oskar Lindblom was the best forward in a league comparable to the AHL last year and easily one of the 5 best forwards in camp and he spent months in the minors.

Konecny gets benched in games where he's the No. 1 star.

Shayne Gostisbehere is having a Norris-worthy season and he doesn't hit the ice late in tie games.

If you suggest the Bruins' approach is remotely similar to the Flyers' you're just being intellectually dishonest.
