I'm told he's a very bad skater. Young big and decent production though.

Skating should be one of the easier areas to help develop but I feel like I say that every year and more often it doesn't improve
The Flames specifically seem to be a black hole for skating improvement. The poor skaters we've drafted seem to stay that way for the most part.

My least favorite of our later picks so far. Really like our others. Of course I've never seen him play, just looking at numbers and reports.

Honestly I’m not sure thrilled with this pick. I’m sure he’s a good player and all, but seems destined to be a 4th liner to me.

I mean, a young Joe Thornton. Okay I am hyped.
Huckins is more physical than a Joe Thornton type and he will be a speedier skater.
To draft him at that rank was a steal once yo see him develop.
He will surprise quite a few...
I watched him develop the last 2 years and he will be on your team no question down the road.

I don't want to get excited but it would be so welcome if he progressed that quickly

Sounds like a pretty interesting, slightly a project pick. I really like that his game is so multi-faceted. Sounds like if he can figure his skating out there is lots of untapped potential there. For the spot we took him in, I get it.
