Konecny had already replaced Raffl on L1 by the 2nd period. If Raffl cant go we will just see Leier or Lehtera on the 4th line.

with him not getting the empty netter last game i'm guessing it's in his head at this point and he just needs a deflection or a dirty one to get over the hump
I think it will be like Lindblom and his 1st point. Get the monkey off yer back, and you start to relax. But by the eye test, he looked a lot better yesterday than he has in awhile so maybe he had a nagging injury.

Regardless, he has 29 goals, 39 assist....no one had him pencilled for that at all. Someone will bitch about him needlessly though regardless of what his point totals end up being.

And it's been 15 games without a goal....but he has 10 assists during that time and had 44 shots. If he just shot his 10% career %, that's 4 goals and right at his PPG pace all season.

He has also been unlucky on the PP. Only has 3 PP points in last 30 games, and no goals. They really crowd the slot stopping the G to Couts pass.

Keep shooting, keep creating chances for others. It will come.

As much as I love Simmer and he is a great net front presence, having Patrick in that spot will make the power play a lot more versatile and I think more dangerous.

Having Patrick slide from off the post were Simmer likes to set up to below the redline is going to create tons of problems for PK's. Giroux can feed it to that spot and with Patrick's passing and puck movement in tight quarters he is going to force the other teams PKer's to collapse hard to stop him from having a lane to Couts in the slot, which should leave lanes open to either go back to G for a shot, or G should have an open Ghost to hit for a one timer. Or Patrick can take a few strides and have Voracek sliding towards the net from the half wall for a one timer as well.

Simmer is great but does really limit the vectors for attacking the box and limits puck movement to the top of the umbrella.

They should try using Patrick where Simmer is and Simmonds where Coots is. Since the pass from Giroux to Coots has been shutdown lately, let Jake look for the pass to Simmer and if all else fails, Simmer can deflect Ghost bombs better than Coots.

Coots can run PP2 and maybe give that a much needed boost working with Konecny and Lindblom up front.
