Is it me or do I remember Johnny Boychuk being better defensively?

He was a guy who threw big hits occasionally that was an average defender. He was (and still is) rather poor transitioning the puck. Was the ultimate Claude player in playing a heavy game and how he pretty much always tried for the safe play.

One of those guys that I think was liked more for style than the overall effectiveness of his play.
