I think calling up Sanheim to play with Gudas is the right move. Manning-Hagg goes to the third pair. Chances are either AMac or Oduya might be ready by Wednesday, but I think you still give the rook another shot. If Gudas plays badly, we can say it wasn’t because of Manning dragging him down.

I’m really not looking forward to this game, this has massacre written all over it, or following how this team goes, they’ll get merked by Pitt and destroy Boston or vise versa, or maybe just slayed by both

We're gonna get so f***ing wrecked with Mrazek in net. How far away is Neuvy or Stolarz?

For once, I kind of agree with you. Have Sanheim brought up to play on the left side. I want Hak to let him play his f***ing game instead of worrying about every little f*** up. Let him play with a bit of risk. You'll be happy you did. Keep that third pairing to about 15 minutes a night and I think it won't be too awful.

Don't get your hopes high an a potential Sanheim callup.
Mac Donald will play. He probably would have been healthy enough to go against the Panthers anyway but they had Oduya in the fold and wanted to see what he got.

I would anticipate some time next week for Elliott's return.

Approximate an addition of ten days for Neuvirth.

There was never a period of time attached to Stolarz in order to avoid any suspicion of recurrence of injury should it have lasted longer than any specified return. That was in September. The only phrases stated now are synonymous to "nearing" a return. Whether that is this week or this month, it is more promising for a return than a month ago.

All that can change and certainly a player's medical history to other less tangible factors are involved.

Simmonds could return this week.

I think Elliot is supposed to return before Neuvirth but still a couple of weeks away.

And as far as Stolarz is concerned, they did barely trust him as a part time backup last season and he hasn't played for almost a year now. Not a viable option for the remainder of this season.

If Stolie does return, I would expect hm to stay in the AHL for the remainder of the season.

No way you got to Stolarz unless he is 100% game shape and we continuing this goalie performance.

I think Mrazek is what he is, inconsistent. He has a few days to regroup but I think you have to go back to him Wednesday.

Didn’t know oduya was injured. This is the only scenario sanhiem or Morin gets in. Since Morin is out its time to get sanhiem in there. Sanhiem Gudas could be a force, giving us a really good top 4 which is all we need for now on D anyway.

Just let the Sanheim dream die. You’re getting your hopes up for nothing.

If the horrific play of our bottom 3 defensemen hasn’t convinced Hakstol to get rid of one of them by now, it’s not going to happen. Hakstols perfectly happy to have his decisions sink this ship.

We’ll just have to wait until Hextall does his job in the offseason and makes it so Hakstol actually doesn’t have a choice. We know that if you give him one, he’ll choose wrong. Like if you let a child decide what they want to eat, so they choose ice cream for every meal until they’re morbidly obese and sick.

Sanheims not coming back this season unless there’s a long term injury. And even then, I wouldn’t even be surprised for Hakstol to fall in love Oduya’s veteran presence and intangibles.

To me it's simple. Keeping the bottom 4 Dmen means we are always out matched with little to no upside. Adding Sanheim to the mix gives us the CHANCE that a hint of that upside is realized which will certainly help us in the long run.

19 games since Sanheim was demoted. 12 of those games we gave up 3 or more goals.

Our wins are because our top guys have been outscoring our defensive/goalie issues. It's why people were complaining even when winning because the issues are obvious. And one of those issue is not enough talent on defense.

With 16 games left and the playoffs looking very likely, adding more skill to our team would certainly help it. Imagine if it solidified a 2nd pairing and how that would help us.

But instead, we will keep the status quo, try and tread water until we drown.

If amac and oduya are hurt at the same time and alt is gone it’s not unreasonable to think sanhiem is called up.

Lou, there is not a second of any day, waking or sleeping, when that fat bastard isn't licking his chops.
