Injuries and Scratches

19 Nolan Patrick (migraine disorder, Sep. 26) was transferred from injured/non-roster to LTIR Nov.22. He is progressing and has participated in no-contact practices as recently as Feb. 29. GM Chuck Fletcher hoped in the next couple weeks from Feb. 24 that Patrick would get to full contact in practices.
23 Oskar Lindblom (Ewing’s sarcoma [bone cancer], Dec. 13) is on LTIR and will not return to play this season. He began treatments in early January. On Feb. 22, it was reported that his treatments are ongoing and indications are better than expected.
25 James van Riemsdyk (broken right index finger, Mar. 4) will be out 4-to-6 weeks from the date of the injury.

53 Shayne Gostisbehere (healthy) could be scratched. He was injured on Jan. 7 then had arthroscopic left knee surgery on Jan.14. He returned for one game on Feb. 6 then developed what was reported as stiffness in the left knee and pain from scar tissue the following day at practice. He was sent to the AHL on Feb. 20 for two games of conditioning and recalled on Feb. 24. He has since practiced with the team but has yet to play in a game.
55 Sam Morin (torn right ACL during AHL conditioning stint, Nov. 6) is on LTIR and expected out for the rest of the season.

Tonight was an emotional game. Could be an adrenaline dump tonight for tomorrow's game.

Meanwhile, The Canes have been off resting for a few days.

But their goaltenders....just shoot everything

I'd think so, except AV doesn't overwork players to win one game.
He's really focused on the long run.

They're pretty banged up in general. I'd want to get on their defensemen and try to get a lead early (obvious, I know) because a late comeback is less likely on tired b2b legs.

Should be a fun one. Always happy to see Williams again.

Agreed with the above. Last night was a hard hitting emotional playoff like game. To come and do it again would be a surprise. But they are surprising a lot, Hart is back, and they have a third string goalie in.

Why in the world did they get D and not a goalie is so puzzling.

I was told to calm down several times last night by my girlfriend. I couldn't help it. Most exciting and intense game this year

Carolina at home probably the best outcome for a back to back after the Caps.
Of course, they lost to the Devils, but that might be the motivator AV needs (take nothing for granted).

Carolina is bad, no defense, no goalies. That's a problem!

They have just enough talent to be dangerous, but if the Flyers take care of business, they should win.

This is the kind of game that well coached, veteran teams win by doing just enough.

We need them to be at least a little successful this month though. They play the Penguins four times.

So as we know the Sports Talk Radio in the city has slowly weaseled their way into adding Flyers hockey into the conversation.

This morning on Farzetta’s show they’re blaming “Elitist Flyers fans” for the lack of hockey conversation in past. It’s the fans fault.
Haha not that I think they're right, but I prefer no Flyers coverage on the radio over bad Flyers coverage on the radio. Guy called in to WIP this morning and said they have a two headed monster in goal
(in fairness - Morganti laughed at him)

Tough break for JVR. He was playing some solid hockey.

Excited to see Farabee again, though. I hope they slot him in JVR's spot - minimal disruption.
