Regarding our goaltending... my thoughts are
I feel even though Elliott has played well. As soon as Hart is good to go. You put him in. I feel whenever our goalies our playing good, we over play them till they get hurt or suck.

-Talbot showed he can hold his own when needed. But looks average to me.

Elliott stood on his head. but also let in some week goals, which he tends to do often.
Hart had a few weak games, but is also the reason we are here to begin with. I go with him again, as soon as he's ready.

Capitals have a Stanley cup winning team, and an elite offence. Lots of cross ice passes, and one timers from Ovi.
We are going to need to be sharp in our own zone.

I can't remember a season like this that wore on so long and seemed so dreadful from the start.

But watching Hart, Sanheim, Myers, Patrick and Lindblom play great lately has been a lot of fun. Let's enjoy the ride.

Would absolutely love to see Morin in for this one given Tom Wilson won't have to answer to Simmer.

I wonder when they will actually get him in a game. I read somewhere they were bag skating him in practice, I guess to work on endurance. His first game back in the AHL was rough for him to get through as I understand. Makes sense poor guy hadn't played in a game situation in awhile.

I think the smart thing to do is just run 7D every other game with Morin in for Hagg and splitting minutes with MacDonald. That way at the end of the year you have something of a (still-small) sample to compare the two. If he just clearly outperforms Hagg then it's pretty simple, you dump Hagg in the offseason.

Honestly, having suffered through the joy that is watching the Turd Bros attempt to play hockey, I really think they are better off just rolling with a 5D rotation and spotting in Morin at ES along with some time on the PK. If you figure there's roughly 116 non pp minutes to divvy up, I'd go with something like:
Provorov 23-24
Sanheim 22-23
Ghost 20-21
Myers 18-19
Gudas 18-19
Morin 9-14

I'd rather run the risk of wearing out my top guys and spotting an inexperienced Morin than watching Hagg/AMac regularly shit the bed

Also congrats to Claude Giroux on his 5th season with 50 or more assists. That's pretty damned impressive. The only Flyer with more is Bobby Clarke who broke 50 assists an astounding nine times.

I'm thinking Claude will get to 7 season. If they keep some scorers around him, it's possible he gets to 9 towards the twilight of his career. His hands will stay, its his legs that will eventually give out.

There is also a good chance this will be Giroux's 3rd season with 60 or more assists. Again, no surprise, Clarke holds this Flyers record too with 6 seasons of 60+ assists.

If we make the playoffs through this hell of a schedule, than we are f***ing contenders.

f***ing right!

I could see it if Elliot can keep it up a little longer before his typical give out period and then Hart comes in healthy and rested. If they can some bow sweep this week they are looking decent.
