I'm so hyped for this guy , he looks very promising from the clips I've seen but I havn't watched full games so I can't form a full opinion. He looks to have amazing offensive IQ, remains to be seen if it translates well to the NHL.

Question is...why doesn't he upgrade to SHL? All great to dominate Allsvenskan but how about tougher competition for the rest of the year till he comes here?

I think his rights would need to be traded but he is Modo's best dman and might come in NA next year. Anyways, I'm fine with him dominating the Allsvenskan as most 19 years old dman play in the CHL.

PK is the perfect example. How many heart attacks do you think he gave MT during his tenure?

I’ve only watched the highlights of Norlinder, but he seems to have the same mindset when it comes to creating offense and taking chances. Julien I’m sure will lose it though.
there is a good analyze of Norlander ( the Athetic ) and it says that the guy's always a play ahead of the others ; he reads the game so well that he can be the first player out of the d-zone , and doing it in a safe way .

he can't is what I was told. He'll have to sign with an SHL team after this season ends if he wants to play in the SHL or with us if it's for Laval.

For some reason I thought Modo was an SHL team. Does it work like Soccer where clubs get relegated?

Yes, they were demoted after the 2015-2016 season, they won the SHL title (Le Mat Trophy) or rather the equivalent in 1979 and in 2007. The Le Mat Trophy is named after Raoul Le Mat, the person who introduced hockey in Sweden 1921. Le Mat was a film director and a hockey fan and he donated the trophy together with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc!! It's true.. :)

We could use a pp qb. Hope he pans out.

clearly the Habs are putting a lot of value in drafting blueliners with great skating/mobility. Romanov, Mete, Harris, Norlinder, Brook, Fleury, Struble. Very excited to see what the future holds for all these young D we have, now we just need to work on getting high end forwards.

i still say when in doubt, with Timmins, draft the Dman. He's just much better at getting Dmen. After drafting them, once they get some hype (like Brook, Romanov, and perhaps soon Norlinder) they can be traded for good young forward prospects. As we did with Sergachev, and as our GM at the time should have done with McDonagh, but failed to do. Still, by drafting McDonagh, the opportunity was there.

F Forsberg as well, if i recall.
Yes, and he didn't do "that well"

here is OEL stats, similar to Norlinder ( he's older tho I think) pace:

I always like drafting defensemen in the second, third and fourth rounds. It seems like we do pretty well when we do that.

I only see the highlights of Norlinder but the offensive skills and instinct is evident. Even if he is weak defensively, that's something that can be taught.

Hopefully Brook, Romanov, and the rest pan out. Outside Subban and Yannick Weber in 2007 and Emelin in 2004, the NHLer list from drafting is pretty shallow outside first round.

He is doing great but at the same time what should be are expectation?
he a draft+2, never really dominated us age group (not on a international stage anyway).

That's also my reservations...people don't know that but he is a D+2. Still, it is impressive what he's doing....but I don't think it means he'll be ready for NHL hockey next year.
