19 Nolan Patrick (migraine disorder, Sep. 26) was transferred from injured/non-roster to LTIR Nov.22. He is progressing and has participated in no-contact practices as recently as Feb. 27. GM Chuck Fletcher hoped in the next couple weeks from Feb. 24 that Patrick would get to full contact in practices.

53 Shayne Gostisbehere (stiffness in knee, pain from scar tissue) is day-to-day. He returned for one game following arthroscopic left knee surgery performed on Jan.14 but has not played in the NHL since. He was sent to the AHL on Feb. 20 for two games of conditioning and recalled on Sunday, Feb. 24. He is available to play.
55 Sam Morin (torn right ACL during AHL conditioning stint, Nov. 6) is on LTIR and expected out for the rest of the season.

So far everyone that was concerned removing Farabee at the expense of Grant and Thompson would make the lineup worse was correct. They both better play a whole lot better on Friday night.
Then I saw that Joe Thornton interview, and I know you hate him, I thought how much better he would make our C depth if we had grabbed him instead.

Giroux Couts Jake
Laughton Hayes TK
JVR Thornton Farabee
NAK Raffl Pitlick

or

Sure looks a lot better.

I would take Big Joe instead Grant and Nate every day too.

It would be absurdly satisfying to stretch the win streak to 6, beat the Rangers clean in a home-and-home, all but lock up a playoff spot, and basically end their late-season playoff push.

It won't happen, but it'd be, y'know, satisfying.

Also, this team is 14-5-1 (.725 point percentage!) since the end of the Holiday Road Trip From Hell. That's a ridiculous record over 20 games.

That's where my head was at for the deadline.

Staal, Carter, Thornton... get one of those guys on the cheap with possible salary retention, and all of a sudden our center depth looks very impressive.

Didn't really notice either of our new guys, honestly.

But holy hell did the 2nd line ever put on a clinic! That was extremely fun to watch!

And that 2nd line...could of had another with that Laughton shot that hit the crossbar and post.

Not sure if actual teams were revealed, but it was reported Thorton had 3-4 teams interested and he just said no. Never know if one of those teams was the Flyers

But I believe if Big Joe knew that PHI is only and one team who want him, he would waive NMC without any doubt to go here because of he wanted to play in playoffs.

Just like Simmonds didn't want go Buffalo but then waived because of they were only one team who wanted him. LOL, he still will not play in playoffs of course.

Love this quote form Charlie O'Connor (Athletic)

The Flyers can now be expected to roll over bad teams. And it’s that truth that allowed Vigneault and his team to use the Sharks game as a time for experimentation, to test out their new acquisitions in not-insignificant roles, without serious concern that shuffling the line combinations in the middle of a winning streak would lead to a crushing loss.
Suddenly, the Flyers have the leeway to play the long game in roster construction, without sacrificing the short-term beyond aesthetics. It’s a luxury that only good teams truly have.

Well said. My guess is Thompson and Grant will get a few games to acclimate themselves and later next week Farabee gets called back up to fill in for the weak link. Just a hunch.
