Injuries and Scratches

19 Nolan Patrick (migraine disorder, Sep. 26) was transferred from injured/non-roster to LTIR Nov.22. He is progressing and has participated in no-contact practices as recently as late February. A quote from GM Chuck Fletcher “He’s been involved in some battle drills lately, which is a big step. He hasn’t been cleared for full contact but we’re working that way. I think the sense is he will come back this year, but realistically, after missing a whole season, I don’t know. It would be hard to throw him in the middle of your lineup down the stretch but just to get him back would be great for our team but more importantly great for him after a long battle." (Feb. 20, source:What we know about Flyers’ trade deadline plans ‘sniffing around’ rental market ).
23 Oskar Lindblom (Ewing’s sarcoma [bone cancer], Dec. 13) is on LTIR and will not return to play this season. He began treatments in early January.

53 Shayne Gostisbehere (stiffness in knee, pain from scar tissue) is day-to-day. He returned for one game following arthroscopic left knee surgery performed on Jan. 14 but has not played since. He was sent to the AHL for conditioning on Feb. 20.
55 Sam Morin (torn right ACL during AHL conditioning stint, Nov. 6) is on LTIR and expected out for the rest of the season.
59 Mark Friedman (healthy) could be returned to the AHL if Justin Braun (ill) plays as expected.

this team is bad at Pk. 75% is awful. We need to use this. Let Giroux play the left side of PP1 the majority of the time. And to make the french General happy shoot sometimes from the right side. like last game ;D

Thanks for posting this @MiamiScreamingEagles. I followed the link for more, but it won't let me in without disabling my ad blocker, so I guess I'm not getting in.

Fletch on Patrick - "I think the sense is he will come back this year, but realistically, after missing a whole season, I don’t know. It would be hard to throw him in the middle of your lineup down the stretch but just to get him back would be great for our team but more importantly great for him after a long battle."

Combined with Fletch's other quote that basically said "we're looking at the deadline independently of Nolan Patrick," that says to me that even if he's back, the onus will really be on him to show he belongs and can contribute positively. They're not at all looking at him as a deadline acquisition, and they're going about their business as if he is not a factor either way.

It will be an interesting weekend.

It’s been a bit since I’ve been on here, but damn this team is fun to watch right now. What a confident team.

NAK has been a revelation in our B6. In case Patrick isn’t ready, I think Sam Bennett could be a good replacement for the time being. He can also switch to the wing. He seems to play well with a good forechecking line and Laughton + NAK fit that mold. Pitlick also fits in that role as well.

I don’t believe I had a strong opinion one way or another on NAK prior to seeming him in extensive NHL time this year (I’m sure somebody will correct me if I did), but he has been fantastic this year.

He’s a guy that could probably play higher up in the lineup than the fourth line, but I’d hesitate to move him up because he makes us so much harder to match up against when he plays there. Kinda reminds me of when the islanders had that dominate fourth line a few years ago and it made matching up with them tough.

I would go out and get a 3C (or promote Frost) then just use Patrick as 4C the rest of the year if he can make it back.
