Lucic and Pulju

For

Okposo and Nylander

Can Okposo still skate? We have 3 playmaking centers and Okposo played well with Tavares before so there could be something here.
As of right now Okposo and Lucic are pretty equal imo. Okposo is a little better offensively and Lucic is a lot better in regards to physicality. Same age and same contract.

The correct answer to the bold is when he wants to. Okie's big issues in Buffalo have been effort and a decline in hockey IQ. His stick is also where possession goes to die. Still has a great wrist shot though.

I think the Oilers end him down to be part of the Bakersfield run and replace him in the lineup with Gagner. This is the best move for Puljujarvi and the Oilers long term. You can't trade him when his value is at this point. This is time for the kid to put up or shut up. He is 20 years old and needs to get his head in the game. He is not developing on the team and needs minutes so the AHL is best for him. This will all get settled next year come contract time. Puljujarvi needs to understand that a draft is based on projection and doesn't get you paid after your first contract. Your ability to dictate terms goes away when you don't produce as good as your draft selection.

I would not trade him period. At this point the return is to low to not keep the lottery Ticket.

The problem is more next year than his year.

Even with a good 15-20 games and playoffs with Bakersfield are you confident with him on the Oilers roster next year, considering he has to go through waivers to be sent down and he’s an RFA this summer with his agent holding a return to Europe over our heads?

Management completely blew it with this player, may be time to cut our losses (and management) if we’re stuck with a subpar player on a bigger contract who can’t go to the AHL and could bail to Europe leaving us with nothing.
