Boston puts on the pressure late but comes up short 4-3.
After the final whistle there were a lot of fists flying.
Boston has a lot of grit and fight. Needs better defensive decision making on moving plays and for the love of Pete need some kinda of offensive creativity in the opponents zone below the circles.
Great puck moving from the D up the ice all game long. Power Play was deadly and really showcased the B's offensive tools. Those did not translate at all 5 on 5, however.
Boston was superior physically all night, but still did not win as many 1 on 1 battles as they should have along the boards. Sabres speed and passing caused havok all game long and the B's were not able to learn how to break it up unless they could foceit to the boards and jam things up.
Vladar look frustrated with the defene in front of him. I would not put any of the goals on him. Had 1 that was a laser one timer through the 5 hole on the PP, the rest were 2 on 1 plays were the B's did not take out a man or prevent the pass. Made some great saves on breakaways, even a 2-0.
Steen(2g 3p) and Asselin(1g 2p) had standout nights. I like Frederick and Lauko. Vladar was swimming due to the D in front of him, He's do a lot better with a more solid D group IMO.
Providence this season will be interesting to watch, that is for sure.
