No, not Christmas - it's the World Juniors Championship I'm talking about.

I figure 8-10 players should be enough to get things to run smoothly. As of now rules will remain unchanged. They are in the older thread for now but I will post them here once I know people want to join. Depending on the number of players the number of draft rounds will be tweaked.

Rules of the game

Points
1 point for goal or assist.
+ 1 additional point if scored SH.
Wins for a goalie are 2 points.
+ 2 additional points if awarded a shutout. In case of a 0-0 game going to the shootout both goalies will be awarded a shutout.


Draft
11 round snake draft where each player picks:
6 Forwards
4 Defencemen
1 Goaltender


Replacements
If you happen to draft a player who gets cut or injured prior to the start of the tournament and can't participate you will be able to replace him when the regular draft is done. Replacements will be made in the order the injured/cut players where picked.
If a player is injured during the tournament, he can be replaced. Any accumulated point totals by the replacement player prior to the replacement of the injured player will not be added to your score. I.e Player A gets injured and is replaced by Player B, who up to the time of the replacement has 4 points. These 4 points will not be included in your score.

Draft Rules
- We will use a 12 hour clock that will run around the clock.
- In case of a slow draft a lightning clock will be used for a day where we try to run through as much as possible in that day.
- If you know that you most likely will not be able to be around when your pick is up then send me a list of players ranked according to your preference and I will pick the highest ranked player remaining from the list. Mark the PM as to make it clear that it is a list and I will not open it until it is your turn.
Make sure to send a PM to the next player!


Sobrien has the #1 pick and can make his pick as soon as he sees this. The clock will start to run for Sobrien at 6PM Eastern time (if the pick is not made before that of course).

PALE hasn't been seen for a while. On the other hand I don't want to skip anyone in the 1st round.

I just wanted to throw out a crazy idea. Is it worth considering doing this is an e-mail chain or some app like GroupMe? It may speed things up. Granted, we have time...but I started a WJC draft with friends scattered throughout the country yesterday with just an e-mail chain and a Google Doc and we're through 3.5 rounds in 30 hours (10 teams). And some of my guys don't know hockey that well, let alone Junior hockey.

We could at the very least move it out of a thread and into a "conversation," it appears the new site e-mails you when there's a comment in a conversation you're a part of. The thread can still stay to use the tables and stat/draft track.
