It could be some of both of course, but I just don’t see what prospect(s) were mishandled to any great extent. You look at what they’ve done after leaving Detroit and none have unlocked some hidden potential. You look at their GR performance and few ever accomplished much. Guys got call-ups and refused to run with it, despite coming into good teams in many cases.
Whatever the case we can only hope a new scouting staff, extra picks (many spent on D) and higher draft position yields better results. The development aspect should be analyzed but I believe not all players need the same kind of development. We would have needed to have had some system that’s wrong for literally everyone. Statistically it’s more likely our draft picks were too few, too late and too bad.
