Well, we could be the Devils:
2015: #6 Zacha
2016: #12 McLeod
2017: #1 Hischier
2018: #17 Ty Smith
2019: #1 Hughes
2020: #7 Holtz, #18 Mercer, #20 Mukhamadullin

Since they lost in the Cup final in 2011-12, they've made the playoffs once in 9 years (lost in 1st rd), yet are still waiting for all that losing to pay off.

AV already called these games meaningless though, so... there’s that.

Lmao for real hahahaha. At least the devils have hischier, Hughes, holtz, and tHe youngest forward group in the league. They have no big contracts that suck other than subban who they can easily trade at the deadline (50% retained)...we have Jvr, Hayes, Laughton tied up To 17 million. Watch the devils make big moves in the next couple free agencies

not for the young kids it isn't ..... they'd love to try to show that they can replace the older "set in their ways" veterans
Two games ago Allison had two goals and has been playing well and got one shift in the last 6 mins of the game . The next game it was the 12 min mark till he got his first shift . There ain't a hope in hell he's just playing the kids . Cates should be playing , Big Z should be called up and Sandstrom should get a shot . I don't think one of those things will happen , but there is no point anyways cause it meaningless AV ain't watching he said so himself . FFS

We just raised the "Best Season Start In a Decade" and "First Playoff Series Win In Almost a Decade" banners to the rafters and you ask this?!

Also, do you see the Devils locking up Provorov, Hayes, and Laughton as their future core? Didn't think so.

Provy and Laughts ????? ..... you're DAMN SKIPPY :thumbu:

just release petie townsend :DD

Subban at $4.5m is sure to have contenders drooling all across the league, and with NJ being a premier destination for free agents, they’re strong contenders to win the summer championship again even without Shero there to make all the right moves.

Yeah, overpay a couple guys then have to let a top RFA go, where have we seen that (Toronto).

Voracek has 3 years, JVR 2 years, and odds are they don't finish those contracts here.
Hayes can be traded after 2021-22, and my suspicion is will be a better wing than center at that point.
So the only other deals are Couts (big raise) and G (salary cut on a 3 year extension at 34 years old).

If Laughton's $3M a year (bargain for 3rd liner who also is a top PK guy) causes cap issues, we got other problems.
