Flyers play 4 consecutive home games against non-playoff games after this game. Certainly don’t want to count anything before it hatches and so forth... but there is a glimmer of hope that this team could actually be alive in a playoff race in 10 days. It starts with winning this game.

For the love of god fix that pathetic PP. Are you kidding me... We had no SOG on pp now..

Pierre McGuire called it "inept." Remember when commentators earlier in the year said "there was too much talent for this to continue" and "eventually it will get going"? Well February is forthcoming and Punxsutawney Phil sends a foreboding message.

Awesome, awesome broadcaster. A style almost unmatched. He was smooth and called the game. Yes, the on-ice product was first and foremost. The banter was saved for when play was not ongoing.
Exactly, the Phillies had the same with Kalas/Ashburn. Today's announcers just don't understand the concept of shutting up occasionally and letting the game speak for itself.

Sadly, there is no time for banter when the game isn't being played, anymore. This is because there is always another script for the announcers to read or an advertisement of some sort.

Please for the love of god let Ghost be able to play. I can' watch AMac and Folin in the same lineup again.

I am pretty sure the Flyers had a practice scheduled in Boston for later today but it was either canceled or not scheduled. Unless an update stating Ghost is or is not with the team on the trip, we likely won't find out his status until tomorrow (Thursday).

If we win 10 in a row and we give the pens .500 then you are still 5 pts back. We’d have to win 10 in a row and then play at a decent pace. It’s possible but more than likely the shots against and getting outplayed breaks through. Who knows we haven’t had a goalie like Carter.

I was just lamenting how impossible it is to make up any sort of ground in this league if you fall behind too early.

Was thinking about the PP earlier today and how I think I would try to fix it.

JVR

Giroux Voracek Ghost

Sanheim

Putting Sanheim up top allows him to run the PP and because the PK will have to respect both GIroux and Ghost's shots, should leave him more open as well. Left Voracek in the middle because of how good he is at entering the zone with possession, and his shot from there is OK.

It's pretty much impossible, the hole is too deep at this point. Plus, I think they'll have at least one more rocky spell, probably as soon as they trade Simmonds. His play might not be that great, but he's a well liked guy and I think he will be missed. Best guess is that they finish with 80-85 points and are nowhere near a playoff spot. Just have to hope for some lottery luck.

The PP is not going to be fixed until Simmonds is traded.

Coots should be dropped to PP2 as well.
