The people raving about Hicketts are the people who've been talking all year about how he'd be better than half the Wings defense.
It's like going to a political convention and expecting good, objective information on a candidate.

Meanwhile, all the truly brilliant evaluators of hockey talent sit behind their computer screens all day typing, "he sucks!" I believe that's how most pro scouts got their starts.

I could've made the threshold November 11th and added Jimmy's 31/32 night against CBJ to pad it a lil more too. But I didn't.

So in those extra 17 games, Howard went 2-15.
What a beauty!

Early in Howard's career, I wanted him to be good.
But what he wound up proving was that he was just good enough to lose.

He's like the opposite of Grant Fuhr or Jack Morris.
Those guys would win 7-5 or 1-0. But they'd win.

Howard will lose a lot 3-2 games, but he loses.

Mrazek gets lit up on a more frequent basis, but he wins more frequently.

Lyon took the L for him against us because he played well and fought back. Getting lit up for a no decision, good shit that's a wash in your mind.
Maybe Lyon starts that game and we lose.

Your win% stat isn't a good indicator of individual goalie play.

You can think about Hicketts what you want...but as a matter of fact, he's been exceptional so far both during preseason and the three NHL games he played.

Is there a specific number of breakaways for the other team you are allowed to create before you're game can no longer be called "exceptional"?

Because whatever that bar is set at, I suggest we raise it

Do you really believe what you are saying???

Why dont you use GAA or SV%? As if those mean nothing.
How about SO's? (Mrazek might actually win that one)
How about how many times the goalie needs to be pulled? (Subjective).

But ignoring GAA and SV% is ridiculous. (and you must know that).

Look im not saying Howard is good. I am saying hes not the worst in the NHL.
If you want to say "hes the main goalie for Detroit, and detroit has lost the most games out of any team since NOV".... well thats not an argument against Howard... its against Detroit.
