Obviously this wont keep up as once the Central starts playing themselves more we'll start to see more losses accumulate.

But early in the season as teams play a lot of out of division games, it's becoming quite clear the Central is by far the strongest division in hockey. 5 Teams in the Top 10 in the league, they're basically just beating up on teams in other divisions right now.

Based on Point %, they are five out of eleven, but 3 out of 5 is impressive.

If I've got the math right, the order would be:

TBL - Atl
Nas - Cen
Pit -Metro
Min, Col (Cen), and Tor, Bos (Atl) all tied
Mon - Atl
Chi, Wpg (Cen), SJS (Pac) all tied

So, 4 out 8 for the Atlantic
5 out of 11 for the Central

And, that's kind of how it was last year as well.

When the Metro won. Again.

So much for that: 3 out of the top 5 are from the Atlantic. I’m no statistician, but that seems more impressive.

PS: I was right - 3 of 5 is 60% dominance, 5 of 9 is 56%.
Ya if only the central teams had the luxary of playing the Senators, Canadiens, Red Wings, and Sabres 4 times a year each.

Compared to the divisional games the central teams have to play 4 times each?

Preds, Jets, Avs, Blues, Stars, Hawks, Wild? There are zero easy divisional matchups in the central. All 7 are probably capable of making the playoffs in the right division.
