I loved Hakan Loob. What a neat player!

Martin St. Louis came close to 50 in his career, hit 43 once. However, I think winning the scoring title twice beats any other single season by a 5 foot niner or shorter.

That's close? Hmmm... Well in that case Mats Näslund (5'7", 43 & 42 goals) deserves a mention too.

For a nano-second I thought about Sergei Makarov but soon came to my senses (of course he didn't hit 50).

I had to check how tall Maurice Richard was (5'10" apparently), actually not that small for his time.

Brian Gionta is 5 ft 7 and came within 2 goals in 2006.

Patrick Kane came within 4 goals in 2016.I don't buy that Kane is 5 ft 10, he looks like 5 ft 8 or 5 ft 9 max.Could be wrong.

... I always took for granted that Maurice Richard was 5'9.

These are generous listings for height on these guys, though I really don't know how tall Mullen and Loob are.

Danny Gare has personally told me he was/is 5'8" as I have had a wobbly pop or two with him over the years. 5'8" and 175 - 185 lbs when he played.. Forearms and hands that look like they could kill a man fairly easily. Danny and I are both 5'8" - neither of us are in the 175 - 185 pound range, and haven't been in years! lol

Danny is as down to earth as any person I've ever met, one of my favorite people ever...

The listed heights (and weights) for many players, especially small players, are notoriously inaccurate. They are almost always bumped UP. Martin St. Louis was usually listed at 5'7 but he himself admitted he was only 5'5 1/2. On my current Bruins Marchand and Krug are listed at 5'9 but are 5'8 at best.

Geoffrion is puzzling though listed at 5'9 when he was taller than that I am pretty sure? Probably 5'10 - 5'11? Fleury was probably accurately listed at 5'6 but I've seen his weight given at 180 lbs. which I seriously doubt? At 5'6 and 180 he'd have been just about the bulkiest player in the league?

I remember Geoffrion coaching the flames. Bad perm aside, he didn't look too tall.

Marcel Dionne is another. Met him briefly, and definitely shorter than me. Wider though! The perennial brick outhouse.

Not just hockey though. Football, Doug Flutie 5'10'? A little shorter than me, and I'm only a shade over 5'8".

My uncle is maybe my height. He met Brian Gionta and the practice rink, and said he was eye to eye with him. Only Gionta had his skates on...

What the heck is this about?

In terms of points.... Cooney Weiland was 5'7 and scored an NHL record 73 points, a record that stood for 13 years before 5'8 Doug Bentley matched it. Only after that did the points career leader break the 5'9 threshold (by 5'11 Herb Cain in 1944).

Canada...Not 100% ,but I think its called Blueline Diner.
Thanks again!:thumbu:

EDIT Marcel Dionne Inc. right next door to the Blueline. QEW to 57, to Montrose, got it!

It's actually a breakfast joint! Open 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.

Now to find a day to go, probably 45 minutes from Buffalo - depending on the bridges.
