The Scott Niedermayer comparison is legit. Very cerebral, great skater, handles the puck like Niedermayer, sees the plays and makes them before the opposition does, looks off the opposition with his passes to give his teammates time and space, and just knows how to create scoring chances and produce points. His family is even friends with both Scott and his wife.

After nearly 20 years of trying to rebuild their defense, the Avs are stacked on the blueline for many years to come. Well done Joe!
