Last year it was them giving Bruce Willis an award (for 11 bad movies made in one year)after it came out he had an illness. This year? Bullying a 12 year old girl for nominating her for worse actress. The Willis one I can defend, But nominating a 12 year old girl? Yeah--not a good idea. Rassies are suppose to be fun--I think the guys who run it maybe taking themselves too seriously as of late. Every since Sandra Bullock showed up in person--it went to their head

Nothing wrong with telling kids the truth.

Builds character.
It can if it's done privately, they're ready to hear it and it's accompanied by support. If not, it could be damaging. If this 12-year-old asked an adult that she knew if her acting was good and was told the truth but given some good advice and encouragement to become better, that might be OK, but an organization publicly embarrassing her is rather different, IMO.

Nando nails it I think, just make the Razzies sillier and less cruel basically

Wait did that kid from Boyhood ever get nominated for his godawful performance in The Circle? It was a small role but for real some of the worst acting I've ever seen.

The Razzies haven't had any relevance in at least a decade if not two. What point can they make or joke can they make that already hasn't been beaten to death by the internet and social media already?

Tom Hanks looks and sounds ridiculous in Elvis? Gee thanks. Everyone said this the day the trailer for the movie dropped.

An allegedly "edgy" group that specializes in Jay Leno-grade observations and jokes.

At this point everything that comes out of Hollywood should be given a Razzie by default and then they take it away if it isn't actually garbage.

Still, like other award shows, it has no relevancy to anyone that isn't part of the club in the room for the show itself.

Is it me, or is it strange to have so little variety in the nominations? Out of 45 possible nominations, 40 of them were captured by only 10 movies.

I realize there's an obvious connection between having the worst screenplay/acting/directing and also being the worst movie. But out of all the hundreds of movies that come out every year, one movie had noms for Worst Actor, two Worst Supporting Actors, Worst Couple, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Director? That seems like someone didn't watch enough movies.

Echos my feelings above a little bit. They're just kinda cheap and lazy.

If we're being generous with their founding and history they were at least meant to be a counter-commentary to Hollywood and the Oscars at one point. Take a little air out of those stuffed shirts or whatever.

But for the most part they just re-trample over movies and performers that have already been savaged by critics and/or flopped or they bully small projects or relative unknowns who may be bad, but probably don't warrant the abuse. I follow movies pretty closely and I've never heard of several of the multiple-category nominees.

If the organization truly had any brains or balls, it would pick more fights with critically and/or financially successful movies. You REALLY want to counteract the Oscars and the establishment, have the stones to say Meryl Streep in The Iron Lady is cartoon bad or Bradly Cooper in A Star is Born sounds like Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs or CODA is grade-A ABC Family goop or whatever ... if you're going to be critical at least be INTERESTING in your criticisms.

Read about it last week they have removed it and are trying to do damage control since then.
