Proof that our scouts just get their list from Scott Wheeler of the Athletic. Hints why Wheeler went crazy every time we took "his guy". Who needs to pay scouts when you get free scouting reports online.
I can’t stand guys like him (meaning those who produce their lists and then blast teams who don’t take players in the “proper order”). If people like him were that good, they’d have a different job AND they’d be universally acclaimed as the best draft expert in the world.
I really respect the guy who’ll just say “hmmm...I had him ranked lower but definitely a player that is projected to do XYZ, etc.”

I don’t share the vitriol, but it isn’t lost on me that getting “good” draft grades from someone basically just means you picked closest to the way their own draft board went.

How does the SHL handle player transfers? Can Gunler just demand a trade?

i can't speak to this, but will anyways. i have noticed with liiga that players are pretty fluid between teams on loan because it benefits both clubs. to retain a player who is on the periphery of your roster that might play big minutes elsewhere would be something that might sour a relationship and make them less inclined to come back to the club in the future as developed players. plus, it's almost sabotaging your u20 team to send a player that has been playing 6 minutes a game directly into important hockey without a little runway to sharpen up.

It can definitely vary. I've been in both sides of the equation where a potential co worker has been set up to cover a part of a shift with me, and where I've interviewed for positions.

The potential hires that interviewed came down to two people, one was technically skilled and didn't talk a lot, the other was extremely personable but I didn't get much of a sense for competency or an interest in developing said competencies when they were shadowing me. I advised for the technically skilled one. They went with the personable one and it was a complete f***ing disaster, they were gone within weeks and the other guy moved on by then.

I've also been on the other end of the interview and my biggest conclusion is the art of bullshit is something I'm sorely lacking. Mind you the economy was shit at the time but when I moved on from Duke it took months with well over a dozen interviews to land a position.

Just from reading you on these boards I would have to disagree with your last statement :sarcasm:

Non possum dicere hoc, non erit

I had to change it to "i can't speak to this, but will" because anyways didnt have a translation

Perhaps the awesome Latin word "nihilominus"?

I don't have a strong enough grasp of Latin grammar to know whether it's valid to just append it to the end of the sentence the way we do in English. But in isolation it carries the same meaning as "nonetheless", and sounds like the name of a badass Roman villain.

I tried "i can't speak to this, nonetheless I will" and "i can't speak to this, I will nonetheless" in google translate and the awesome word didnt come up.

Non possum dicere hoc ego autem adhuc (nonetheless as the last word)

Non possum dicere hoc tamen non erit (nonetheless before I will)

I need "(you have to) appease the insane" in Latin, please. For legal purposes.
LOLZ

I need to appease the insane: Mihi opus est ut voto insanit

You must appease the insane: Et necesse est ut voto insanit (have doesn't have a translation, according to google translate)

The insane must be appeased: De sacris placandos esse insanam

I am required to appease the insane: Ego lenis requiritur ad insaniam convertunt (the numerous mistakes of Ego lenis would be funny)

Is there a short form version, like "placantur insanum" or something to that tune?

No, Luleå control his future when he has a contract, but nobody wants an unhappy player. Gunler is overqualified for their U20-team but not getting enough ice time in the first team.

Short-term loans are formidden in SHL. All loans/contracts must be for the reminder of the season, unless you sign someone as cover for an injured player. In this case, Brynäs have an injured forward, so a short-term loan is possible.

Gunler most likely has a rookie contract in SHL, meaning the economical outlay for Brynäs is quite minimal, which is important at the moment.

Brynäs, just like Luleå, have a tough coach. He won't play unless he works hard and he won't play if his attitude isn't good enough. Most likely they already had a chat with him and his agent, and everybody sees the Brynäs move as a great opportunity. Luleå have a better roster than Brynäs, but Brynäs do have very good top players such as Patrik Berglund. Gunler can probably have as good, if not better, lines mates in Brynäs than in Luleå if he gets to play with their top players. The move should become official tomorrow.
