Why can't the Flyers send Elliot to Lehigh Valley? I know they'd probably need to put him on waivers to do it, but if someone takes him, what are the Flyers losing?
I'd rather put in Pickard, and bring Stolarz up to be the back up.

Let’s be realistic. He’s played two good games and one bad one. Let’s not throw everything out because of one blowout.

Can’t wait to see if Jeff goes nuclear on the lineup.

-Sanheim sitting for Folin (mortal lock)
-Konecny on the 4th line
-Lehtera switching with Misha
-Weisebiscuit getting his saddle ready
-Splitting the top pair
-VandeVelde getting delivered overnight from Austria

The blender possibilities are endless!

Sanheim and Konecny got 14~ minutes last game so they might as well be on the bottom pair/line. Konecny got 14~ in the Colorado game too. If you want to take it back to the playoffs, Konecny has gotten less than 15 minutes TOI in 7 of his last 9 games. Less than 16 in 8 of his last 9. For emphasis:

TRAVIS KONECNY, A 21 YEAR OLD TOP THREE WINGER AND TOP FOUR OFFENSIVE DIFFERENCE MAKER AT FORWARD AT WORST, HAS GOTTEN LESS THAN 15 MINUTES TOI IN 7 OF 9 DATING BACK TO LAST SEASON AND THE GAMES HAVE MOSTLY ENDED HORRIBLY.

I'm gonna throw last night's thoughts here. Sue me.
  1. MacDonald rushed a slap pass over to a wide open Voracek and botched it. Shocking, I know. Why he rushed so much? Who knows. He could have gathered and passed to Jake, but instead decides to f*** up yet another pass and possession is over.
  2. MacDonald caught daydreaming, love it. 2-0. What a f***ing piece of trash he is. 3 shifts, 2 mistakes, 1 goal for him thus far.
  3. Hagg and MacDonald on both end up on the left side of the net, leaving Couturier the only defender against a player behind the net and one in the slot on the right side. Good save by Elliot keeps it not 2-0. For those keeping score at home, that’s 4 shifts, 3 mistakes, 1 goal, 1 near miss for MacDonald
  4. Misha- felt forecheck pressure in the corner. Between the legs pass towards the trapezoid to his dman, goes to other dman, and an easy out. Fantastic play.
  5. Sanheim 2/2 on PK clears that shift just fyi
  6. How lucky. Coots makes a good play and it just bounces to Kane. Also, wasn’t his goal that was a triple deflection off his skate? Meanwhile, the Flyers are hitting posts and are just missing primary assists for slam dunk goals.
  7. SANHEIM IS ON THE TOP OF PP2.
  8. I thought Patrick was finding his game more today. Hopefully it turns into some good things.

Or how about we just don't panic?

We've played three excellent teams so far. One cup finalist and two likely conference finalists this year.

It's an 82 game season and it's too soon for drastic changes.

Vorobyov had the expected crap game from a rookie early in the season.

The defense has been flat out terrible.

I expect to lose this one too

I think they come out hot after last night. Need to get up early or else we lose this again. Another year that we never get up first, must be the Rocky Balboa effect.

Pickard has to play, no?

One of weise or folin is a lock sadly. Sanheim or TK will come out.

Duchesne scores like always, almost a lock to bet on the Sens to win this.

Would be nice to see a determined hungry hockey team that wants to win. forecheck, backchecking forwards help out D because obviously we have some issues that needs to be addressed as a team...

Elliot wasn’t great but I feel like the last games abomination was on the skaters. Even Provy was bad. Hopefully they pick up two wins in a row here.

I am a huge goalie critic and have really only ever been impressed by a few goalies in the NHL. That said, I have NEVER been impressed by Elliott so when I say that I won't put the whole blame for last night on him, consider the source. He wasn't very good but should have been pulled after 4. What good is it to keep him in net? If you play Pickard tonight (which in a back to back situation you should) after Elliott had such a bad game, it's going to further bruise his confidence. And if there is one thing Philly doesn't need it's a goalie with no confidence. Like blood in the water. It's a no-win situation though... in other words our coach has mishandled the goalie situation

I don’t think he was nearly as bad as some, and if you’re referring to that sh goal that was all on Patrick

No...I don't think I was.

He just played unsurprisingly. Had a penalty, did the turn the puck over more, defense was a little lacking.

Vorobyov had the expected crap game from a rookie early in the season.

No matter how poorly anyone thinks he played, he's not getting killed for it because by and large, people can see promise and understand growth takes time. But you do have to flash to get the benefit of the doubt as a young player. There's a time in a career when people lose sight of the bigger picture (Voracek, Covington, etc), but none of the current generation of prospects is there yet.

They've already alienated the casual fans by not winning enough. Now they're pushing into the dangerous area where they're beginning to alienate hardcores. No hockey team can afford to do that. This isn't the NFL. Live gate is vital to your success as a business.

The penalty was a really weak call imo. If you go back and watch he was quite effective in the ozone. Everyone was a disaster in their own end yesterday

If its the one I'm thinking of now, I agree, I think it was weak.

I'm probably exaggerating a bit, and the overall game didn't help anybody.

There is really 2 people I think played fine...Raffl & Laughton. And that's not good.

Those two stood out to me as well. And i am afriad to say i think it’s because of their skating ability. Raffl and laughton are great skaters on a bad skating team. If you ask me with a gun to my head why wr lost yesterday, i would chalk it up to being amongst the slowest teams in the league if not the slowest. San jose just flew by us all night
