The referees in this game are UNBELIEVABLY bad. Like, it ****ing kills the on ice product.

Chico made a valid point too, THAT is becoming common.

Any tie up with the defenseman and guys are contorting their bodies and falling to the ice to draw a penalty.

And I'm not surprised its becoming a trend. But we need someone to tell the refs ahead of time to watch for this and stop encouraging the behavior. But we all know that won't happen.
