I think it’d be a coin toss between Byram and Turcotte. Those both seem like guys that play the way Sakic is trying to build the team. But with Makar coming in and there not being any forwards that are particularly close to being top 6 NHLers in our system, I think they’d go Turcotte.

3. Turcotte
4. Byram

The rest I'm not sure even make my top-10. Definitely have Brink, Kaliyev, and Suzuki higher today, with Krebs, Newhook, Soderstrom, Boldy, Caufield and more in a similar level tier.

I think the #3 spot in the draft is completely wide open but if I have to choose I think the pick will be Alex Turcotte.

Just really don't think any of those guys are "top-5" overly impressive, especially Podkolzin/Zegras. I'll probably end up with Dach and Cozens somewhere between 8-12, but I really don't see a giant difference between them and a bunch of guys I have ranked after 7.

In a vacuum, I would select Byram since I think he is very slightly the BPA there.

Now if I was selecting for the Isles at #3, who are pretty deep in young defensemen, I probably wouldn't select Byram.

I'd be either trading down a few spots and tracking Krebs or just taking him at 3. I'm convinced he is the best of the WHL prospects.

Turcotte. He's gonna be a good one.

Also, he's a Chicago kid, so that's a plus.
